“The Role of Scripture in Discovering God’s Will” -
Preparation for the 2013 USA National Conference: Facilitators for the Rocky Mountain Mission Center congregations have completed preparation to begin to facilitate discussion sessions on this DVD resource. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend a discussion group in your congregation on the DVD. The DVD not only shares information that assists us in our journey to the 2013 USA Conference, but also re-emphasizes Community of Christ view of scripture. It answers such questions as: What is scripture? How do we use scripture? and What part does scripture play in discovering God’s will? Please take the time to participate in the
process of being a “prophetic people.” This is part of a broader decision making process of discernment and community discussion. Please see your pastor for the specific details in your
congregation.
Together in Christ: A Journey of Faith is an additional resource of reflective questions and spiritual practices for individuals, congregations and small groups to prepare for the 2013 USA
National conference. It is very important to engage in spiritual practices in community, so that we, as the church are part of the process of discerning God’s will in the life of the church. We are

Leading Congregations In Mission: While there will be a limited number of congregations from the Rocky Mountain Mission Center directly involved in the pilot of “Leading Congregations in Mission,” the missional plan being pursued will be one that is lifted up and shared with all congregations in the mission center. More will be shared in the future about this next step in congregational revitalization.

REMINDERS:
Begin planning for the 2013 hymnal in your congregational budget. The cost will be less than $25 per hardbound book edition. Also budget between $100 and $200 for auxiliary products. The hymnal will contain 600 to 650 hymns and songs with at least half from previous hymnals or supplements that are familiar. There will be a 15% discount for pre-orders which will likely be available in the fall of 2012. Find many more details at www.CofChrist.org/hymnal/budgeting.asp.
Changes in Scripture Products Several changes will be made in 2011 for Community of Christ scripture products. First is a price increase (estimated 10–25 percent) to cover increased cost of paper and printing. Second, the 3-in-1 option will be phased out because of excessive production cost and low sales. In its place, sets of the three books of scripture (leather, hard cover, and large print) will be available for a discount. Third, in response to customer requests, a paperback Inspired Version will be available. Scriptures are available from Herald House at www.HeraldHouse.org.
